Using study results:

Here come the new sketches and graphic researches to find other character designs more suitable for the story.

First of all I clearly re-established the psychological profile of the main character. (The second one is less important for my study)

Psychological profile

Chef : Gino

Gender : Male

Age : ± 45

Origin : Italian-American (Italian mother)

Other : Divorced, catholic, has one son of eight

It was his mother who made him want to cook .

Job 1 : Cook

He opened his own restaurant in a big town of the United States of America. He patched up an old subway car into his little restaurant. Everything was going fine till 2021, that is when a wonder recipe was invented. This recipe permitted people to only need to eat one burger a day.

Job 2 : Delivery guy

He is forced to close his restaurant because of the multinational burgerchain. He fights for not having to work for them but all the restaurants have the same problem so he has no choice.

It is a harsh period for him and he slips into depressi

on. He's forced to sell his house because he can't pay the rent and food anymore. His wife leaves him and takes his son away from him.

He moves into his old restaurant and ends all alone. He abdicates and becomes the delivery man for the multinational chain. Can't be the delivery guy because the idea was that the burger arrives everyday at the same time in every home...

So I began to think about new jobs he could do within the burger factory.

There are 6 main ideas:

  • Maintenance guy (operative employee)

  • working-chain employee (to create burger)

  • security guard

  • After sale service employee

  • Advertising “placard man” (less relevant for the story; everyone already receives the burger at home)

  • Unemployed

I decided to develop the maintenance guy, which was I think the more appropriate considering the story. To confirm this choice I created a method; I wrote a lot of clichés for keywords from the story: Italian, American and cook.

Then I linked as much clichés as possible to the matching professions. The job that contained the most clichés was maintenance guy.
